Set up Assignment Types You can create a set of assignment types including classwork, homework, quiz, test, etc. that you can share with multiple classes instead of creating assignment types for individual classes. It is recommended to share assignment types with multiple classes while you are initially setting up types. This ensures consistency in all the classes. 1. Click Setup Assignment Types to open the Assignment Types screen. 2. Type the name of the assignment type in the Name column. Make sure each assignment type has a unique name. Do not use the same name for two different assignment types. 3. Type a code or short word or phrase describing the assignment type in the Short Name column. 4. Select the type of mark for the assignment from the drop-down list in the Mark Type column. 5. Click Save. ProgressBook assigns a unique identification number to each assignment type. To share assignment types across multiple classes, you must set up identical assignment types in each class. Place your cursor over the next to an assignment type to display the ID number.
6. To continue adding assignment types, repeat Steps 2 through 5. 7. To share assignment types with other classes, select the check box next to the class(es) you want to share assignment types with. Click Select All to select all the classes. Click De-Select All to deselect all the classes. 8. Click Share Assignment Types.
To convert one assignment type to another: Select the assignment type to convert in the Convert all assignments with type drop-down list. Select the new assignment type from the to type drop-down list and then click Go.
